I would like to transfer my contacts and emails from Outlook 2007 to Windows Live Mail. I can not find any way of doing this. It has been suggested that both programs be installed and then do an export and import, but it still doesn't work for my Windows XP Home SP3 computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

See if Import Outlook Contacts into Windows Live Mail helps.

Hi...by now you may have solved the problem..but just in case try this. You may be looking at your contacts in Outlook and with a rational mind thinking of "export". Well, logically, you are right. But MSO thinks you are "import (ing)". So go ahead and import...and save it on the desktop. Go to Live and 'import' again from desktop to Live.
