Can anyone tell me how to get started with Outlook Express programming/customization?

When I try to search the internet (Google), I don't have much luck, no doubt because I am terrible at doing internet searches.

For starters, is there a way to alter the default address book? I am interested in using my own address database (MS Access) in lieu of the default address book used by OE.

Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this topic.

    Charles.

Outlook Express isn't programmable - it doesn't have an object model that is exposed to programmers.
If you want a programmable e-mail client, try Microsoft Outlook. It has an extensive, if rather eccentric object model.

Added: and you can create a link to your Outlook contacts folder in an Access database, no programming needed. The contacts folder will be visible as a table in the database. Its records can be edited (but its design cannot be changed in Access).

Thanks, Hans. This makes me feel better about not being able to find the answer on the internet!
