I would like to suggest that a simple search apply to the forum from which one launches the search. For example, if I am in the spreadsheet forum and want to search for 'subtotal', I get results from all the forums. I must go to advanced search if I want to restrict the search to the spreadsheet forum. I think the search should default to the forum one is already in unless otherwise requested.

It used to work that way in IP Board version 2. I hadn't noticed that it changed. I agree we should go back to that. However, the Lounge is going to implement a different search engine, so probably any changes will have to wait until that has been installed.

At the foot of each Forum is a Search this forum search box.

Like you, I did not see it initially, and was using Advanced Search.

Thanks to all. John, you're right, I never saw that search box at the bottom.. would be more useful if it were at the top.
