My conputer goes into power save mode on its own while I am using it. It will not wake up vy moving the mouse or clicking it or clicking any of the keys. The only way I have been able to get it out of this mode is by holding in the power button until the computer shuts off and then rebooting it. Any solutions??

    Welcome to the Lounge!!

Is your system up-to-date with patches including service pack 2?

    Is your BIOS up-to-date?

If this a recent problem, what cahnages have you made recently?

Have you checked the power option settings?

    Thanks for the reply.

It has been doing this for about a year.

Service Pack 2 has been installed last month. Any time a necessary patch becomes available I down load it. As far as I know the Bios is up to date. The Power options settings have not been changed from when I purchased the computer and I have had this system 2 years. The time it takes to go into the power save mode is completly random. Some times it can be an hour, or three hours. During other operting sessions it never happens.

Giving the manufacturer and model would assist in Googling!

Try changing your power settings. Could be that your sleep and hibernation times need to be extended. I had the same problem waking my machine, but since I reset the power settings, I have had no recurrence of this problem.
