An Admin should really take a look at this thread to see if some "editing" is called for...

Al, if you want to report a post, click on the Report this post as inappropriate button. The Report that you then submit will be linked to the post in question. Online BadgeHolders will immediately be given notice that there is an outstanding Report - although at present there are bugs in including VIPs in this notification.

If you want to mention several posts, then specify links to the other items.

Make sure you are happy with your text before you submit it. You will not be able to edit it once it has been submitted.

The thread you mention has been attended to.
    Grüße

Thank you for the tutorial, Malcolm! I've been around a couple of days and know the "procedure." In this case, there was YOUR offensive post AND the one from Mr. Chang with the "censored" junk in it, so I didn't think it warranted my time to jump through hoops to mention both. Once in awhile, our inabsentia Admins ought to be called to task to keep an eye on threads. That was my rationale for posting here.

    Al,

The admins DO look at all reports, and probably more quickly than they review posts in this forum.

Al - I see that you have now read my PM apologising personally to you and the other offended parties for my badly worded attempt to show sympathy. As I have been unable to find the right words, I have left it at saying nothing.

You will well recall that (censored) was an often used Smiley in an earlier version of the Lounge.
    Grüße

Sorry Stuart. I have my doubts about that and I'm logged on for 8 - 10 hours daily.

Yes, and you'll have to see my reply to the PM for my reaction.

I guess the roles of Moderators and Admins in the Lounge are not quite clear to me. I know that in moderated forums the posts are vetted before being posted. Not so in the Lounge. I always assumed that one of the roles of a moderator was to keep tabs on what is posted and to take whatever action is appropriate where required. Likewise, I assumed that the role of an Admin was to take care of the Lounge infrastructure... the techie bits. Is that not how it works here?
    Regards,
    PaulB

    Paul,

Each moderator has a number of forums to moderate. They have the power to edit or delete posts in these forums and to move threads to other forums.
Every moderator has the ability to hide any post in any forum. This is used to remove anything unsuitable from view till the correct moderator logs in.
None of the moderators has any rights to edit or move posts in the Test forum, or in Feedback to Admins.

The admins have moderator rights to all forums, and make decisions about the structure, the rules, and similar things.

Thanks for clarifying that, Stuart. I thought Admins only dealt with techie stuff.

Some only deal with techie stuff, others get involved in editing posts.

Another moderator PM'd me to point out that all moderators can now move posts from the test forum, I was a bit out of date on that one.
