with Interenet Explorer. Any recommendations out here?

Every browser has some pros & cons. I am using IE8 & Firefox 3.5.6 both with Windows XP SP 2, without any difficulty.

I have tried many others and have always gone back to IE, it works all the time that I need it to.
All of the browsers have issues, none of them are perfect, it gets back to the which is better a Ford or a Chevy question?

You have choice and while it's free, use several browsers without moderation! For browsing Microsoft sites, nothing better than IE8. For speed, look at Chrome and for extensions and customization, nothing beats Firefox.

I prefer FF because of the wide variety of my favourite add-ons/extensions. I love NoSquint, Tab Mix Plus, CoolPreviews, AdBlockPlus, NoScript, IE Tab, Forecastbar Enhanced and WOT plug-in. Occasionally I disable some, but the IE Tab is great for MS updates.

I always have Chrome open for emailing and other forum purposes and am pleased with its speed and that it's not a huge resource hog like IE.

I have been using K Meleon
    http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/
It is a Mozilla derivative (FF) and can use most of the same add ons.
    MUCH faster.

    I have also tried Safari.
    http://www.apple.com/safari/
    Also very fast.
I dint like the settings and interface as much.

I actually find IE and the new FF to be rather slow.

I'm in the IE camp. Always seems to do what I want. Always opens sites I want to see. I have tried others and as DaveA says, I always seem to come back. When I loaded FF, it seemed to change all my favorites to it's version of bookmarks, I think. Once that happened, IE would not open my favorites. I do not like that. If I'm using a browser let me decide what favorites to either convert or load in FF.

Firefox doesn't delete IE's favorites, at least not unless something went terribly wrong during the installation. However, if you make Firefox your default browser, then shortcuts to URLs will open in Firefox.
