I just upgraded my Dell computer and it comes with Windows 7. I do not seem to be able to find Notepad or an equivalent with this version of Windows. Is it there and if so where can I find it? Has it been replaced and if so, where will I find its replacement?

Any other suggestions for those using Windows 7 who also found Notepad or some variation on its functionality quite useful, please let me know.

Thanks to all for any insight on this situation.

To get access to Notepad, I use the Start button, click on "All Programs", then click on "Accessories" and then finally on Notepad. In any case, you can find the program under C:\Windows\System32\Notepad.exe.

Or one could select Start, then in the Search pane start typing in Notepad and you will see it in the list. Now you can Pin it if you use it a lot.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

When I don't feel like scrolling thru all the Program Files I find this Search pane very handy. Notepad was very useful when I needed to test my laptop keyboard.

Thanks guys. I knew it had to be there somewhere. I am finding that Windows 7 and all its improvements has some nice carry-overs from XP, but sometimes...you just have to ask.
