    I have a check box on a form. It's name is "Priority" and is a field in tblLegislators.

    Of course, the user of the report doesn't like the "box" around the check mark and wants to remove it.

    The user wants to see a check, not a check box. The check mark needs to display only if the value of the checkbox [Priority] is 0 or checked.

    How do you I write this into a generic text box? the Dec character number is 252.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks much... Jenn

    Hey this new lounge is comfy!

    I would just paste the check symbol from somewhere else (Word probably) as a Label with the visible property set to No.
    Then I would use code to make it visible when Priority is True.

    But
    • You still need to see the original field to enable a user to tick the Priority field in the first place.
    • This would not work on a continuous form (but it would work in a Report).

    John

    Thanks John.

    You know I've tried to copy and paste the symbol into a label and text box but it copies as a square and not the symbol.

    Also, the check box is checked on another form in another part of the application - - the use here is only for display on the report.

    Not sure if this is what you are after

    One way round this issue would be to have a TICK symbol/Image on the Report
    where you want a Tick to appear.

    Also have the Priority Field on the report but Not Visible.

    I assume this is in the DETAIL band of the Report.

    Then add some code to the On Format Event of the detail band

    Suppose the Hidden Field is called PRIORITY and the Tick Image is called imgTICK

    Code:
    IF PRIORITY = True Then
    	imgTICK.Visible=True
    Else
            imgTICK.Visible=False
    EndIf

    After you paste it onto the report, change the Font of the label to Windings2 and the Tick symbol should appear. It just did for me.

    Now in the OnFormat event of the detail section of the report you can show or hide the Tick symbol with code like this:

    Code:
    me.labeltick.visible = (me.priority=true)
    LabelTick would need to be changed to whatever the name of the tick symbol was.
    Regards

    Thank you.

    The work around I used was to use a common keyboard character (asterisk) and used the same code method you suggested. However, I know there is a way to include a character number should I need to display a symbol of some sort. I tried using the character map but could not get the symbol to insert into the label.

    Thanks to you both for the suggestions.
