I have been filing E-Mails and many other documents for years by entering the current date
at the beginning of the name. This allowed me to easily find many documents. For the last 6
months or so I came up with an easier, faster method. I now have a Notepad shortcut on my
    Desktop called Dates.

    It is:
    01-01-10
    01-02-10
    thru
    02-28-10

II copy the date I want, then click on the Keyboard Home button and paste it at the beginning
    of the E-Mail or whatever.

Nothing wrong with it if it suits your fancy, fills your need and WORKS! I don't quite understand, but be that as it may...

I use Thunderbird and before that Netscape, so I've got emails going back more than ten years. I keep my Thunderbird "folderized" and with those folders that have a heavy load, I make sub-folders for years. Within each folder or sub-folder, I sort the mails by date so I never have much of a problem finding something. When I do, I'm glad the TB search engine will help me with that.
