    Thumbs up

I have been setting up a client's Windows 7 64-bit PC and got to the point of configuring "Windows Live Mail"; importing his OE dbx files and wba, which went sorta well. But after getting things working in an acceptable manner I couldn't find any way to manually evoke a "Send/Receive" of his e-mails. I checked the "Help" files but didn't find anything that would direct me to how this is done. I really can't believe there isn't a way to manually check for new mail in this client. After using OE, Windows Mail and Outlook for many years I have to say that Windows Live Mail is a step in the wrong direction. I'm wondering how many people have torn their hair out trying to find a way to get to the Accounts, Options, etc. since the Menu Bar is not displayed by default. Okay... enough of the ranting....!

    Jeff,
I also set up WLM on a friend's computer. If I remember correctly (and I may be wrong), does the "sync" button do what you want?

Added: Yep - I was correct. See this article.

Thanks to both! Yep, it would appear from the article that the "Sync" feature has replaced the age-old "Send/Receive" function. I even looked at Sync and the menu and of course "Sync" was naturally, at least for me, indicative of "Syncronize" which is unrelated to Send/Receive in my brain. I'll relay this information to the client and he'll be happy.

It's certainly not very intuitive is it?
