    Tracking Changes (Word 97)

    This is my question:

I have marked a document for tracking and have noticed that when I "accept or reject" changes that my "reject" button dims out when I come to a formatting change in my document. For example, if I have bolded, italicized or underlined a word(s) in my document, I have the option of using the "accept" button but not the "reject" button.

    Thanks for any help!

You may want to apply a character style to handle your formatting changes of particular words / phrases. I think this would be picked up by Track Changes and that it would allow Reject, but don't know for sure.

The built-in character style for bold is "Strong" and for Italic, it is "Emphasis." This was apparently inherited / stolen from early HTML formatting.

You may want to look at and <A target="_blank" HREF=>Track Changes for more information.
