Have recently installed Windows 7 and have been slowly reinstalling my programmes and settings.
Have encountered a snag trying to get Windows Fax to work.
In XP had no problems but the new OS Fax & Scanner Wizard doesn't recognise the modem, although
Device Manager clearly shows it as installed and working, including a diagnostic check.
The modem is recognised by Device Manager (and confirmed by Belarc Advisor) as PCI CX11252-41Z Soft Modem.

Any suggestions, please, about how to overcome this problem.

    Many thanks

If you can't find drivers that will work with 7 (maybe try Vista-compatible too if found) you may have to go the eFax route. There are probably some decent free ones as well.

Maybe you need a hard modem.

A new, supported, fax modem card is going to cost around $20 or less.
