Does 2010 use outcmd.dat? I renamed that file, (the one in "C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlo ok), and Outlook 2010 still loads.

Is it somewhere else, or not needed, or needed only if the menus etc. are customized, and then where would it be located?

    Regards,

What are you trying to do or prevent by renaming the outcmd file?

It will get remade every time it is deleted or renamed!

Dave, nothing except to see if it is going to create one. I uninstalled 2007 before installing 2010, but the outcmd.dat file is dated 1½6/09, so...?

I'm just trying Ti get a feel for the how and where of menu changes is handled in 2010.

Dave, no, I didn't delete it, I renamed it OT outcmd.holddat. -- And it didn't create a new one!

I just checked, and there still isn't one there.

    Chuck

According to Corrupt OUTCMD.DAT hangs Outlook 2007 in Outlook New Users and Resetting dat-files | MSOutlook.info, Outlook 2010 does not use outcmd.dat or extend.dat.
