    Hi,
I have been using PNote (open source "sticky note" program) and decided that it has some "features" I can live without. However the only uninstallation option is to manually delete its folder from the Programs directory. All well and good EXCEPT Vista says I don't have the right to delete the folder. I know this probably has something to do with UAC that MS foisted off on an unsuspecting public (me) but I have tried everything I can think of to take ownership of this folder and haven't succeeded.

Can someone PLEASE post a step-by procedure for wresting control of my machine from Vista? I would truly appreciate any help.
    TIA
    Pete

To take ownership use Windows Explorer, right click on the folder, then select Propeties | Security (Tab) | Advanced (Button) | Owner (tab). Set your logon id as the owner. OK your way back out. You should then be able to delete the folder.

Thanks Joe that worked fine. Apparently I was clicking too many "edit" buttons as I distinctly remember having to back out of 6 or so levels. Anyway, PNote has gone to that big bit bucket in the sky.
