Lets say a DVD was able to fit a copy of a Partition that had Windows XP installed and other files / programs on it.
In the event that something went wrong with the hard drive could I use the DVD to copy everything back to the new Hard Drive?

I have Acronis True Image, but I haven't had the time to work with it.
I am now going to try it out on another computer of mine and find out how it works and what my options are.
I am not too familiar with this kind of software and because of that, I didn't want to trust it.
