    Excel (Office 2000 SR1-Wint NT 4 (sr6))

One of our users has a Word document with about 10 bar graphs and 8 line graphs. The size of the document is 12,000 KB. We used paste link from Excel because the chart data is changed frequently up until around version 4 of the doc when it gets filed via SEDAR. Before filing we would then break the link. Someone mentioned that it is very dangerous to link the spreadsheets. I'm fairly sure I can reduce the size somewhat by pasting to a new screen omitting the last para mark.
Other than the size of the file - which will change when the link is broken - are there other issues anyone is aware of?

Well not to state the obvious, you will not be able to dynamically update the Word charts once the Excel data changes.

But a question comes to mind, why not have the Word charts linked to a Word table vs an Excel worksheet?

Thanks but our clients send the files in Excel and later amend and re-send. So it's not practical to have them redone using Word's chart feature.
