    Text Editing (Office XP)

    I would appreciate very much some information on how to edit text imported from a scanner into Word pad. I need to add a few words but can't finf how to do it. Thank you <img src=/S/brickwall.gif border=0 alt=brickwall width=25 height=15>

    If the document was scanned as an image (the default for most scanners), then it can't be edited. If you want to edit the text in the document, then you will have to scan the document using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software. Some scanners come with OCR software, but it is not normally installed by default.

    if you use the office scanner utility (look in the office tools folder on the programs menu) it'll ocr the text for you, then you can copy and paste the test into wordpad.

    what scanner software did you use and what is the file format of the scan? if tif, you might be able to open it with the document imaging utility and ocr it.
