    Auto Generate Numbers (2000)

    Hello all excel wizards.

    I have come upon what I deem an easy solution for most but for me difficult for some reason.
    Have a some numbers eg 0 and 1 like binary...anyway i need a way for excel to autogenerate every possible
    combination of 1's and 0's with none repeating

    so it would look like this
    00000
    00001
    00010
    00100
    ect all the way to 11111
    is there a built in function that can take numbers and autogenerate every possible combination or do I habe to write a macro...not that I could do one like this anyway.

    thanks for the help

    Re: Auto Generate Numbers (2000)

    Since these are binary numbers, this is easy <g>.

    Use this formula and copy down from row 1:

    =TEXT(DEC2BIN(ROW()-1),"00000")
    since there are 5 digits, 32 possible combinations occur, so copy down to row 32.
