I have a spreadsheet with a Category column and a Review Date column. I would like to be able to count the number of entries in the Review Date column that are not blank (i.e. have been reviewed) based on the entries in the Category column.

I tried: =SUM((A5:A150="ASIS")*COUNTA(B5:B150)) but that returns a result I don't understand (way too big). I've tried some other versions using COUNT and nested IFs but the COUNTA seems to be the sticking point.

    Any suggestions are much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Try:
    =SUMPRODUCT(--(A5:A150="ASIS"),--(B5:B150<>""))
