I reported this error to Microsoft a few weeks before retail release of Windows 7 but, unless they fixed it in the most recent update (and the documentation doesn't say it does). The bug is this:
If you set up multiple triggers for a scheduled task, 2 or more using the weekly setting, the task order will be screwed up. For example: if I set up an alarm task (set it to play music) and I set the first trigger to Monday and Wednesday at 5 and the second trigger for Tuesday and Thursday at 6 the task will run on the first Monday after start at 5, the next Wednesday after that at 5 then the next Tuesday after that at 6 then the next Thursday at 6. It will continue back and forth between the triggers like that skipping those 2 days every week.

As I said I reported it to Microsoft and they even said they'd put it at a high priority but, that was back before the retail release. The thing is I've only really tested this bug on my machine (and when I first tested it the only changes/installs I made were my laptops driver updates) and I don't have another computer with Win 7 to test it on so, before me or anyone else launches another complaint at Microsoft I'd like someone to verify this. If it's only replicable on my machine then I'll contact Toshiba.

    My Computer: Toshiba Satellite L355D-S7901
more specifically: I'm running an AMD Turion X2 clocked at 2.1GHz, a Radeon 3100 Graphics card (256MB Integrated). Toshiba does use a registry fix for for a bug with "Devices and Printers".
My OS: Windows 7 Professional (Single User) 32-bit version I got it via MSDNAA partnership download.

EDIT: If this thread shows up twice I apologize, I clicked to post and it returned me to the main lobby and I didn't see this post listed.
Current Machine:HP Compaq 6910p with 4GB RAM, Core2Duo @ 2.20 GHz, Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family, Avast free, Malwarebyte's free, TP-Link wireless card (as the built in card has nothing but problems with empty solutions): The card identifies as "Atheros AR922X Wireless Network Adapter". [Not the best machine but it does internet, docs, and vids, and some games (PvZ, Spore)]

I really hate doing this and I'm not sure what the rules read off hand but, since I'm getting no replies I have to bump the post. I'd really appreciate if someone could test the bug and even if you don't have the bug tell post it and your configuration. I need to know if there's an issue with my copy/installation before I complain to Microsoft again (and get very angry at them for saying they'd do something and not).

I have set up a test similar to your description in my W7 eval copy running under VMware.
I run a command to send the date and time to a log (echo %date%, %time% >c:\temp\Wed-Fri.log).

I'll let you know how it goes in a week or so.

    cheers, Paul

Sounds like it's not doing it for you then. Mine actually says the wrong time/date as the next run time/date (and of course follows through with those wrong times). This tells me that it could be my particular edition or it could have been an error in my install. If I could get at least one person with Win7 Professional 32-bit to try this it could be my install. If it is my install then it is either an error from when I installed it, an error from when I downloaded it (MSDNAA or Developer AA), an error they released a patch for that I've simply not seen (I have looked), or an issue with the Student (one user only) copy.

Thanks for the help. I at least know now that it doesn't appear to be doing it in your setup.

Just to be on the safe side could you post your exact settings in case it's a matter of conditional effects and what program you are running (I'm trying to run a music file directly which was fine under the XP system. I've also tried opening VLC with the parameter for the music file.)

I tried to import a copy of your task and even reformatted it but, it seems I either made a mistake making my xml file or it just wasn't compatible at all. The actual settings seem to have been similar to enough to my own. I'll just have to keep messing with it.
