    When I insert an object into PowerPoint using the 'Create from File' option and select my workbook file the sheet inserts correctly but Excel stays open with no open workbook. Is there a configuration setting I can use to prevent this?

    Hi Kevin.

    When you use the Insert Object command this way, you invoke a feature called Object Linking and Embedding. Since the object you're inserting was made in Excel, if you click on the object (maybe double-click - it's been awhile) the Excel menus appear, and you can work with your inserted object just as if you were in Excel. I know this means extra steps, but you might be better off with simple copy & paste.
