    I tried installing MS' Virtual Desktop Manager. It went all the way through and declared itself finished. However I can find no sign of it, except for the help file vdm.chm in c:\Windows\system32 (the default location). No sign anywhere on the c drive of any other "vdm", or "desk", or "virt"!. If I rerun the installer it offers to modify or uninstal. I have tried both. Also re-downloading the installer and rerunning - all with the same results. No sign on the task bar, while the start/programs menu has a power toys entry leading to the readme for vdm. As a check I also tried installing the fancy calculator, which worked fine.

    Any clues where vdm is, or why it did not load properly? I am running XP Pro SP3 and am pretty up to date on patches.

    After installing, right click on your taskbar and choose Toolbars> Check Desktop Manager

    I had VDM install to a seperate directory and there were 3 files in the directory:
