I'm trying to write a report that has some text on pages in portrait orientation, and Excel files in landscape orientation. I thought this would be doable in WOrd or Publisher, but if it is, I can't figure it out. Is there any software that does this: I'm willing to buy a solution? (Running XP-SP3, Office 2007 latest release)

In Word, you need to have a section break to define a different page layout. After your last line of the portrait page, use the menu Insert > Break > Section break type "Next page". Click on this page and use the menu File > Page setup, then on the tab "Margins" select landscape. You can repeat this to go back to a portrait orientation.

For more complex page layout, you need a tool like Scribus.

    Hi Bob,

You could insert the Excel object, then simply select it and use Page Layout|Page Setup|Margins > Orientation:Landscape > Apply to:Selected Text > OK. This achieves the same result as that described by Stephane (whose instructions apply to Word 97-2003, but not Word 2007).
    Cheers,
