I just got a new system with Windows 7 Premium. Are there any free books or guides for Windows 7? Thanks.

You might find some useful FREE tutorials online at Microsoft Learning Snacks

Every Windows online source can be expected to have Windows 7 coverage unless they are so specialized that they are involved in something more narrowly defined (as some are), but here are a few to add to the list:

    helpwithwindows
    thewindowsclub,
    sevenforums (which has tutorials)

Lockergnome (Chris Pirillo) has an assortment of sites, including a blog, a youtube channel, and geeks.pirillo. This last site has downloadable Windows 7 Tips for $7. I haven't tried that, at least not yet, but if anyone has and can report on it, I'm sure we would all be interested.

You can download a free chapter of Paul Thurrott's book from the link CHAPTER

I think there is a fair number of such samples from other books available, and if we pass the virtual hat around, maybe we can accumulate a variety of links for the benefit of all.

Here is are links to a useful FREE ebook copied from the SevenForums site mentioned above:

Mitch Tulloch, a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional and lead author of the just-published (and hot-selling) Windows 7 Resource Kit (Microsoft Press, 2010; ISBN: 9780735627000; 1760 pages), has created a short e-book called "What You Can Do Before You Call Tech Support." You can download the e-book in XPS format here and in PDF format here.
