    I'm having enormous problems with Word 2007, as it contains an apparently unremovable feature of automatically completing a date in US numerical format. So if I type "02 February 2010" and then press either Enter or spacebar, I'll get "02 February 2010-02-02". Obviously I can undo it by hand, but it's a nuisance. I can't use the feature because as a translator, I find it unclear; I have to use text to tell my client what date is intended, especially if the letter has been sent by a US subsidiary who may be using the US system. Anyway, I have to mimic the date format of the original, as far as possible. I understand that unlike most automatic corrections, this one can't be turned off, but that information is 6 months old. Has anyone found a workaround yet? (other than moving to open source word processing computer, which is an option, but a bit drastic!).

    The bad news is that Microsoft doesn't agree; they apparently think the
    function is so wonderful that they didn't bother to include an option to turn
    it off. MS function not included to turn off

    however; macro to turn off auto date completion

    Here's another resource which might interest you that I was introduced to on another forum site;

    Free quick references for many MS products

    I've found it helpful and have passed it along to many of my family/friends/co-workers
