I just downloaded Win7, clean install. I must have done something in the process to disappear IE8. It seems to not be on/in the system. And, I can't find a way to download. The MS Windows web site offers a download link, which takes me to a page where I'm to select an operating system.. XP, Vista, etc, but not Win7. How/where can I find a way to download IE8? Some situations require IE.
    Thanks.

    Welcome to the Lounge!

What happens if you type http://www.microsoft.com/ into the location bar at the top of Windows Explorer & then press Return? If Internet Explorer is still your default browser, then it should open. If not, then something has indeed gone wrong with your system.

Watch out for that Woody Leonhard (see the bottom of this page)! He keeps on telling folks that best Security practice is to use Internet Explorer only in cases of emergency.
