I just got a new computer which with Windows 7 OS. Not sure if I like it yet, but I am getting used to it. One thing that really bothers me is the loss of Outlook Express for my e-mail. I do not like web-based e-mail and OE worked very well for me in the past. I've never really been a lover of Outlook, although I used it at work for a number of years. So, I am wondering now if there isn't a good, inexpensive alternative that I could either buy or download to use for my messages, instead of Outlook, or instead of reverting to web-based mail as so many have done because it's inexpensive. I don't want to be at the mercy or roadrunner or any of the other people who kick back messages because you have too many on their server.

    Thank.s

Mail - Windows Live is the free follow on to OE. It has a slightly different UI but is easy to get used to and overall is a much better product than OE.

I use Mozilla Thunderbird under Win 7. Very happy with it - quite similar to outlook but with a number of useful features such as multiple inboxes (if desired when running multiple email accounts).

    Best of all, it's free
