    In WordXP in menu Tools, Options, Compatibility the options can be set?

    is there something similiar in ExcelXP? and Excel2007

    and if so where can I find it?

    What sort of compatibility are you looking for? If you are thinking of something like compatibility with Lotus 1-2-3 for example, not really. On the other hand you can save files in earlier Excel formats in both 2007 and 2003.

    There is a small amount of compatibility available using the 'Tools' | Options | Transition choices in earlier versions of Excel and the 'Excel Options' button selected from the Office Button. The 'Lotus compatability' options are at the bottom of the Advanced submenu.

    I think this is intended to allow Lotus 123 users to transition over to Excel
