Desktop icons won't stay put!

Has anyone else experienced this problem? In Windows 7 (64 bit) I arrange my icons where I want them. Upon the next startup some of them go back to the where they were when origanally created. Win 7 does not have a Lock Icons option as did XP. Any help?

The Search functionality in the Lounge (At The Moment) is awaiting an update.

By using the following syntax:

+desktop +icons +windows +7

threads one, two, three & four came up.

Hopefully, there might be a few starters there you could try.

I did try a search in the Lounge but came up empty. However, I did find this, and it solved my problem. What I forgot to mention is that I'm changing themes on a periodic time frame and did not notice the option to allow or not allow the theme from changing icons.

Lock down the desktop icons during theme change

Right-click on the Desktop and choose Personalize

Click the Change desktop icons link in the left pane

Uncheck the following option and click OK

"Allow themes to change desktop icons"

Yes, I saw this program and I think it's pretty neat. however, it's just doesn't strike my fancy.

I use DesktopOK to save my desktop layout and restore it if the icon locations get mucked up. Some of the English documentation needs a little decoding...

Right click on the desktop,then click on view. Is auto arrange icons checked? If it is uncheck it.

Auto arrange is instant, so if he can arrange his icons then auto arrange is unchecked. There are others out there having the same issue, and have not found a fix, though for some it has gone away after changing some settings. Some are thinking it is a problem with the sleep function, others think it's a shut down issue.

Might be worth making a new acct and see if the same thing happens.
