    Hi gang,
I was just wondering where Word saves the Options settings found under the Tools menu. Like the "Always shade a field" or "Press on CTRL to follow a hyperlink" settings.
Are they all saved in the Normal.dot or are some saved in individual documents.
    Just wondering.

As you surmise, the Options dialog combines some settings that are global to Word, and are stored in a combination of Normal.dot and the Word Data key in the registry, as well as some settings that are specific to the current document (and are stored with the current document).

A little trial and error usually suffices to figure out whether a setting is global or document-specific. Just based on a quick test, it appears that "Always shade a field" is document-specific, whereas "Press on CTRL to follow a hyperlink" is application global.
