    Message opening (5.0)

Since morning today it would not open a message and instead would give me "Not enough memory" message. I can preview mail but simply can not open a message old or new. Following has already been done to rectify the problem.
    1) Scanned - no virus - I had nimada attach yesterday but have cleaned it up.
    2) Restarting PC - Have WinY2K
    3) Trying repair option of browser without any results.
    Please help.

    Re: Message opening (5.0)

Are you getting memory error messages when doing anything else?

Thanks for your reply. Well the memory message only appears in outlook express. My other mail programs or applications are working fine. This happened when my PC was attacked by nimada virus which was cleaned later.

Could the source of the infection be still there?

I have checked number of times using anti virus software which confirms system to be clean.
Is there a way I could uninstall OLE and then re-install?
I have tried to install over but that did not help.

How about upgrading to IE 5.5? You should be able to download this from Microsoft or get it from a PC magazine cover disc. This will include OE 5.5.

You should be able to uninstall OE through Add/Remove Programs>Windows Setup. To reinstall, I would suggest running IE 5.5 setup again. It should detect and install the missing component.

sparky. I had this problem a few months back I tried everything and nothing worked. I finally got the nerve to edit regedit and deleted everything that mentioned outlook express. before I did this I deleted all .tmp, temp files and ran scandisk. I then went back thru the add/remove program and It worked like a charm.
    Good luck, Gerri
