Viewing HTML formatted emails in Outlook XP (Outlook XP)

Does anyone know how to change this setting - this is driving me nuts...

Everytime I get an HTML formatted email (like advertisements from buy.com, ebay.com etc...) the email just appears as tons of links pointing to .gif and .jpeg files but Outlook won't display the HTML formatting.

Where's the setting to make this work. It works by default at work, and when I installed outlook here at the house, it's not working.

    thanks in advance!

I have an idea a lot of HTML settings are common with IE.
Have you de-selected "Show pictures" in Tools | Internet Options | Advanced?

you're seeing the html code or just missing pics?

if raw code, are you using WTB, a VBA macro or something that is changing the code for security reasons? what about Zone Alarm, other firewall, antivirus mail scanner or other internet security utility?

if no utilities are doing it, are you using a pop server or exchange?

Re: Viewing HTML formatted emails in Outlook XP (Outlook XP)

I'm just seeing the href's basically.

Someone like buy.com sends me this email that's formatted in HTML so that it shows a nice pretty picture with graphics that are hyperlinked, etc... - when I get the email all I see are the actual links - NOT the pictures. It's like Outlook isn't rendering the HTML, it's just leaving it as is.

No, I don't have any weird firewall stuff going on. I have Outlook XP installed (all of Office XP is installed). I am simply POP'ing - no Exchange server configuration. I have made MS Word my editor and checked to make sure that Outlook formats email as HTML, and it does sending it out - but just not reading it.

There has to be a way to make Outlook read and present the embedded HTML - anyone know how to do it?

Here's an example - this is exactly the way an email fron insight showed up in my mailbox. If I check it at work it shows a nice web page basically with hyperlinks etc... - here's what I see in my mailbox.
