somebody gave me a simple task:
for a office PC (windows vista) once i log in to my user i want that windows mail should open only after a password.
just like we could do it in Outlook express.

I tried, searched and it seems their is no straight way to do this "simple task".
is there a any way to do this? or is there a software utility which can do this task.

    thanks.

    Depends on the mail program.
Try removing the password from the account set up in mail.

    cheers, Paul

Most mail programs have a check box somewhere that when unchecked force you to add a password every time you want to open the app.

Go to (inside your WLM client) tools>>Accounts>>(default mail)Properties>>Server, uncheck the "remember password" box.
This will force a prompt for password every time your initiate the client.
