I'm using a semi public new Windows 7 computer to set up a rather specialized piece of software for a bunch of volunteers to use.

At the moment, I have access to the admin sing in, but I'm not sure that will last.

The other person who helps support this software agrees with me that it is helpful to see filenames with extensions, but we haven't figured out how to make this happen. Neither of us has Windows 7 on our personal computers, although we've both been computer programmers, etc since the 70's.

How DO we make the file extensions appear?

There will be quite a few people with varied computer skills using the application we support so we need all the info we can get.

Click Start, Conrol Panel. Then go to Folder Options. Click on the View tab. Then you just need to uncheck the box "Hide extensions for known file types."

    Hope that helps.
