I'm running Windows Live Mail on Vista, and have it set to look for emails every so many minutes (or Sync, as it's now called). I should like to program a keyboard F-key to do that. Any advice on what the shorcut should be would be much appreciated.

This will get you access to the client:
Windows logo key + the number of the program (from the start menu) pinned to the taskbar.

Example: My WLM client is 4th in line from the start menu on the task bar= Windows logo key + 4
You have to have WLM pinned to the taskbar though.

    Should work with Vista too.

As to programming specific keys, you may need a 3rd party app, or at least a keyboard that supports
    programming hotkeys.

In WLM F5 is Sync all e-mail acounts. With WLM open use the ALT key to display the "File" menu. Then look under "Tools" for Sync options.

Thanks CLiNT, but what I want to do is access the Sync command from the keyboard (not just open WLM) rather than drilling down through my open windows. My keyboard (MS Wireless Keyboard 6000 v.3) supports programmable keys, and has spare hotkeys.

Thanks JoeP. Unfortunately all the F keys are pre-programmed so F5 doesn't open WLM. What I'm trying to obtain is the route to the Sync command so I can program one of the hotkeys..
