    I'm using the following conditional format in my timeline spreadsheet: =IF(LEN(F$5)>0,AND(E$5>=$C7,F$5<=$D7),E$5<=$D7).

    It works well if I have tasks which are over one week in duration, but if I have a one or six day task the cell will appear blank.

    It's referencing a start date and end date and compares the week dates. I don't want to use daily cells for the timeline (tried it and the layout is messy) I would prefer to keep the one week block for each column.

    Anyone able to show how I might register time within the cell for tasks below 7 days?

    I would use this formula in your cells:
    =IF(LEN(F$5)>0,IF(OR(AND($C7>=E$5,$C7<F$5),AND($D7 >E$5,$D7<=F$5),AND($C7<E$5,$D7>F$5)),"X",""),IF(E$ 5<=$D7,"X",""))

    then apply the CF to format cells whose values is 'X'.
    See attached.
