My wife has a Dell Optiplex 745 running XP SR3 fully patched and updated etc. Very occasionally (about once or twice a month) the machine BSODs, and I have tried the usual (Memtester for hardware, updating drivers) without finding the cause. As an aside the BSODs seem to happen only when she visits a particular website using Firefox. (Ironically the death notices in our local on-line newspaper!).
The error message on restart is:
BCCode : ea BCP1 : 8A1A8438 BCP2 : 8A3B1570 BCP3 : 8A929838
BCP4 : 00000001 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 3_0 Product : 256_1
I have installed WinDeb on the machine and opened the most recent Minidump file in it, but it tells me that my debugger “is not using the correct symbols”.
I am assuming the website is a bizarre coincidence, but could any members suggest what the above error code is telling me, or how I can get Windows Debugger to provide me with meaningful data?
