In checking the task scheduler in my Win7 system I find about 34 tasks set to run at different times. Should all of these be there and do you need them? I have googled some of them but don't understand all I read. One that bothers me is "Rac task"(remote access control. Any enlightenment on this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

RAC = Reliability Analysis Task to process system reliability data. Look under Task Library | Microsoft Windows | RAC for the definition.

You should thoroughly examine the definition of the tasks before taking any action. And even then you should probably leave them alone.

Thanks Joe will do as you suggest. Did find some information and a discussion on the Black Viper forum on the subject if you would like to read it:
