I have a Word 2007 document that a student of mine gave me. About 50% of the text isn't printing. We've tried printing on 4 different printers and they all have the same problem, so it's not the printer. We can see all of the text on the screen and in the Print Preview. I've tried copying the text and opening a new document and pasting, but the problem didn't go away. If I copy and Paste Special the text as unformatted text, it ALL prints.

What mysterious formatting has caused this problem, does anyone know?

Is it possible that the "non printing" text is formatted as "hidden"? What happens if you select Print>Options>and check "print hidden text"?

Usually Preview is accurate for most purposes, but if Windows or Word tries to substitute a printer font for a screen font, that could cause a mismatch. If you change all the text to a different font, does it make any difference.
