    Is it safe to download this update. It says that it cannot be uninstalled. I live in the UK which is an EU member state and use Firefox as my default browser. I use Vista Home Premium 64 bit.

    It is safe but since you already have FF set as your default browser you should NOT see the ballot screen. So, I would not bother with it. Just hide it and you'll never see it again.
