    Thumbs down

I installed Win 7 over an existing XP Pro OS. Maybe I'm lucky but I have had ZERO issues with the new OS. I did use Laplink PC mover...it made the change simple!

My question is about the I386 folder. Is is a hold over from XP? Can it be deleted? Is there an equivalent in Win 7?
Would like to delete that i386 folder if possible and gain back some hard drive space.

    Thanks

    Don

    Hi Don and welcome

If you have all your files and settings out of the folder you can delete it. No there isnt an equivalent folder in win 7.

You may also find a folder called windows.old. This folder appears if you clean install directly in your old OS partition. It contains your entire old OS. You can drag any data (pics, music, documents, etc) from there to your new OS. However, this folder is huge and once you have retrieved everything you need, you may delete it as well.
