According to MS, security update support for XP SP2 and Windows 2000 will end on July 13, 2010, and SP3 is good until 2014.

Security update support for Vista RTM (without any service pack) will end on April 13, 2010.

Security update support for XP SP2 64 bit will continue until 2014; there is no SP3 for 64 bit XP.

Thanks Noel! I knew it would end in 2014, but had not seen the actual date. That is good to know.

Wait a week or two and those dates will change again. With MS, they are never quite sure when they can pull the trigger without shooting themselves in the foot.

    Enjoy your weekend.

My laptop will not support Vista or Windows 7. After about 2012 or whenever I get a new laptop with Win 7 pre-installed, I will convert this old laptop to Ubuntu Linux. So much for the MS support problem!
