    Inverted Text (Word 2000 SR-1)

I have played around with Word Art, and everything else I can think of, but cannot find a way to have text appear upside down. Is this possible without using some special font? <img src=/S/hairout.gif border=0 alt=hairout width=31 height=23>

When you say you've played around with WordArt, I presume you mean you've tried it and don't like the effect? Because you can display WordArt upside down quite easily (create it, click on the Rotate button on the WordArt toolbar, choose a corner handle on the image and drag it round until it's upside down).

Otherwise, apart from putting text into a graphic in another program (or simply putting the paper through the printer twice, second time other way up!) I don't know of an easy way. I'm not even sure a special font would do it - if you did have one, would you have to type the entire text in reverse so that when it was turned upside down it was in the right order?! <img src=/S/crazy.gif border=0 alt=crazy width=15 height=15>

Well, WordArt does put the text upside down, but I can't figure out how to force the text to appear exactly the font size I specify. Let me explain why I need it. My law firm has custom mailing labels. The label sheets are com10 size (the same size as an envelope) and are two to a page. I have created a custom label and am working on a mail merge for the label.
Easy enough, but my problem is that the labels print one upside down and one right side up to make sure that they always print correctly when feed through the envelope feeders. So, for a mail merge, I would either have to have them only print one to a page, or somehow have the mail merge print half of the addresses upside down.
I know that I'm asking a lot, and don't actually expect to be able to do it, but wouldn't it be cool if I could!!!! <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15>

How about physically rotating the labels then entering the data in in columns, which you can format with vertical text, up and down?

To expand on this a bit... Set up the merge main document as a landscape page, with the vertical alignment set to Center. Insert a 1-row x 2-column table. Right-click one cell of the table, choose Text Direction, and rotate the text clockwise. Do the same to rotate the other cell counterclockwise. Now put in the merge fields.
