It has been a while since I have used Photoshop and could use some brushing up on the basics.

Are there any tutorials available for the basics on Photoshop CS3?

I only need the basics, it does not have to be too complex ( I do know Photoshop is a VERY complex program).

    Thanks in advance,

If you google "Photoshop Tutorials" you'll find a lot of hits. And it might be worth looking on YouTube - there are a lot there.

    Thank you Ian:

I did just that after I posted the original message.
Yes, there are a lot of youtube posts, but most are a bit confusing.
They sometimes assume you know certain items and just gloss over them.

I was hoping someone knows of a particular "good" tutorial series on youtube that would weed out all but the best.

    Thanks,

If you don't mind paying for a book, might I suggest the "Classroom in a book" series, which is actually an Adobe Press product? We actually use these books in my MGD classes in college, and while nothing beats an instructor who actually teaches the classes, these books take you step by step through the process of creating a number of projects, starting from the very basic, and getting more and more complex as you go.

You can order them from Amazon (which may be the best place to find CS3 stuff, since CS4 is out, and CS5 on the way...). I would only warn to make sure if you get a used book, make sure it has the CD included. You'll want the files contained therein for your projects.

Just when I thought I was finished viewing and learning - along comes more information.

Thank you Christopher and Eric for the additional help.

I have my assignments set out for me. Will return when I wade through the new lessons.

One is never too old to learn.

    Thanks again.

The eHow site has a lot of video tutorials on basic Photoshop features and techniques. This link will get you there.

Hi Christopher, I wanted to let you know that I've finally had a chance to look through this site, and I love it. This will be a great deal of help with my Illustrator class. I'm going to use this to supplement my text and (lack of ) instructor for my online class. It may just help me pass.
