I have been trying to run the windows automatic updates on a laptop and it has not been successful in completing the SP2 install. Now I have lost my internet connectivity. Or I should say that my lap top connects to the internet but I am not able to browse. I am wondering, because I have read some online articles, if my issue is somehow related to the attempted install of IE 8 that appears to be part of the upgrade. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks.

Can you browse using any other browsers? (You can put the QtWeb executable - http://www.qtweb.net/download.php - on a pendrive and run it from that if you don't want to install another one.)

WinsockXPFix is a good general tool for fixing XP connection problems - you could give that a go. http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/fil...scription.html
