LiveMail Registration error 100 : 0x800482de

Several users this morning in my computer class
have experienced first-time user Registration issues, and get
following message

"LiveMail error 100 : 0x800482de"

and "Microsoft [summarized] is working on a solution for the problem."

Users cleared Internet cache, via Internet Options-->General-->Delete,
and Cleared SSL State, and rebooted Internet Explorer, but still no success.

Anyone have any workarounds for this?
