my HP Officejet 5610 attached to my computer? He's connecting to the network wirelessly. If he can't with the printer attached to my computer would he be able to if I added a printer server?

Not an easy answer to this one.

I doubt he will be able to use the printer using the current configuration. I don't think a print server would work even if it was plugged into a USB port on the router (presuming it has one). I think the most likely solution is a wireless print server - try Linksys.

    Hi Marc,

If you use a network printer (it can be a wireless printer but does not have to be wireless), that connects to the router via Ethernet cable and has a static IP address, a Mac running OS X 10.6 should have no problem sending print jobs to the printer.

I have an iMac running OS X 10.6 on my mixed Windows\Mac home network connecting via wireless and have had no trouble printing from an HP Ethernet network printer.
