    The other day, I turned on my computer to find this error:

    [attachment=88554WMerror2.png]

    I rebooted the computer. As it was starting up, it ran chkdsk (I hadn't scheduled it to run). It found and corrected several errors. The error has not gone away and I'm at a lost as to how to fix it.
    The Desktop Window Manager Session Manager service is started.

    The computer is an HP dv8t Laptop running 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate. Everything was fine until yesterday. The only thing that changed recently was the MS updates that went out on Tuesday, but the computer was rebooted at least twice after that without any problems.

    Wow, sfc /scannow fixed the problem. It also found one other dll that was corrupt and successfully repaired. Thanks for your quick and accurate reply.
