Mail merge with form fields? (Word 2000 Build 9.0.2720)

We would like to produce a form that can be filled in, but would contain merged data outside the form fields. It seems that after merging, the form field is lost. Is there a way of merging so that the resulting form can still be filled in?

You could put markers in the places you want to put your form fields, then after doing the merge, use Replace to put the fields into the merged document.

To do a replace to put a field into the document you will have to create the field and copy it to the clipboard. Then in the replace section of the find/replace dialog you put ^c. This copies the clipboard content to the document.
