When I open word 2007 I expect to see the ribbon. But for some reason that is no longer true. On the page that opens on the top left side of the screen I see the word "HOME" and when I click it the ribbon appears but disappears as soon as I perform an operation using it. How may I put that darned thing back in place so it atays visible???

If you are using the large type face because of accessibility issues that is fine. Otherwise, you don't need to use that large a point size.

After the ribbon disappears is there an arrow on the right side? If so, you've minimized the Ribbon and clicking on the arrow should restore the ribbon.

You can minimise/maximise (Australian spelling) the ribbon by double-clicking the ribbon names. You can also do it by right-clicking the same and choosing 'Minimize the Ribbon'.

You have the Ribbon in AutoHide mode. Use Ctrl+F1 or double-click the Ribbon to toggle AutoHide.
